Our Club

The Rotary Club of Didcot, meet every Thursday at 12:30pm for lunch at 1:00pm at the Steventon House Hotel,  Milton Hill, Steventon, near Didcot. (Except for every month where there is a fifth Thursday, when we traditionally have an evening event with our partners).

Didcot is a rapidly growing town of a population of 30,000 set in rural South Oxfordshire, halfway between Oxford and Newbury, in England. The town has many claims to fame, but most people are familiar with either the large coal fired power-station nearby, the Railway Station which is a major north/south -east/west terminus, or the large industrial and office park on the outskirts, Milton Park. Nearby at Harwell is based the Rutherford Appleton Laboratories, and the Atomic Energy Authority.

Didcot is surrounded by many pretty country villages, such as the Hagbournes, Blewbury to the South, Sutton Courtney to the North, the Mortons to the East, and Harwell to the West. This part of South Oxfordshire was traditionally a farming area, but light industry came with the railway, and now Didcot is part of the high-tech Thames Valley.
